Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. fukurokuryuzinboku - Boobie Cactus
Arguably one of the most talked-about cacti in the world, the Boobie Cactus is a true statement piece. This unusual cultivar of Myrtillocactus geometrizans is prized for its surreal, sculptural form — with rounded, breast-like bumps running along its stems, making it as much a piece of living art as it is a plant.
Originating from Mexico, the standard Myrtillocactus geometrizans is a fast-growing, tree-like cactus. This rare monstrose cultivar, however, grows more unpredictably, creating its iconic and highly collectible shape. No two are ever the same, making each plant completely unique.
Care Guide
Light
Loves bright light. Place in a sunny spot with plenty of direct sunlight to keep growth compact and defined.
Water
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to fully dry out between waterings. During spring and summer, water occasionally. Reduce heavily in autumn and winter.
Temperature
Prefers warm conditions. Can tolerate cooler temperatures if kept dry, but must be protected from frost.
Soil
Requires a free-draining cactus mix. Adding extra grit or perlite will help prevent excess moisture.
Feeding
Feed monthly during the growing season with a cactus fertiliser to support healthy growth.
Top Tip
This is a slow, sculptural grower — don’t expect uniform growth. Embrace the weird, that’s where the value is.
Pet Safety
Generally considered non-toxic, but keep away from pets and little hands due to sharp spines.
