Celestial foliage for the modern jungle – rare, refined, and ready to grow.
Monstera ‘Thai Constellation’ is one of the most iconic and sought-after variegated houseplants in the world. Cultivated through tissue culture, this cultivar of Monstera deliciosa features broad, fenestrated leaves marbled with creamy-white and soft yellow speckles – like stars scattered across a green galaxy. Originating from Thailand, where it was developed in specialist labs, the Thai Constellation grows slowly but steadily, each new leaf unveiling its own celestial pattern.
This 20cm plant is the perfect size to begin your variegated Monstera journey – established, rooted, and bursting with potential.
Care Guide
Though she looks like high-maintenance royalty, the Thai Constellation is surprisingly beginner-friendly:
- Light: Bright, indirect light keeps the variegation strong. Avoid harsh sun which may scorch the creamy patches.
- Watering: Water when the top 2–3cm of soil is dry. Likes consistent moisture, but hates sitting in soggy soil.
- Humidity: Prefers 60–80% humidity. Will adapt to normal home levels but thrives near a humidifier or grouped with other plants.
- Temperature: 18–28°C is ideal. Keep away from radiators, cold windows, or draughty spots.
- Feeding: Feed monthly in the growing season with a balanced houseplant fertiliser.
- Soil: Needs a chunky aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and compost or coco coir to encourage healthy root development.
- Support: Offer a moss pole or coir stake as it matures to encourage upright growth and larger leaves.
Best Placement in the Home
Perfect for a bright living room, designer home office, or sunny shelf. Place in a ceramic pot that highlights its marbled pattern, and watch it grow into a true botanical centrepiece.
Rarity & Ease
Still considered rare, especially in smaller, healthy specimens like this, Monstera ‘Thai Constellation’ is one of the easiest variegated Monsteras to care for. With its stable genetics and steady growth, it’s a dream plant for beginners, collectors, and interior stylists alike.
