Native to the humid jungles of Southeast Asia, the Jewel Orchid is not grown for its flowers (although it may send up delicate white blooms in winter), but for its striking foliage. Unlike its more flamboyant cousins, this orchid grows in soil — not bark — making it perfect for terrarium life.

In nature, it thrives in the dappled understory of forests, and in your home, it’ll do best in a similar setup: moist, shaded, and humid. That’s what makes our enclosed terrarium the perfect home.

🌱 Care Requirements (Terrarium Style)

Light:

• Low to medium indirect light is best. Avoid harsh sunlight — it’ll scorch the leaves.
• Perfect for bookshelves, desks, and north-facing rooms.

Watering:

• Water sparingly. Your terrarium already creates a humid microclimate.
• Condensation on the glass? That’s normal. If it disappears completely, add a little water to the base (ideally with a pipette).

Humidity:

• This orchid loves humidity. The closed terrarium keeps moisture high with minimal effort.

Temperature:

• Keep above 15°C. Avoid cold drafts or radiators.

Feeding:

• Feed lightly 1–2x a year with a diluted orchid fertiliser — or skip entirely if your terrarium is thriving.
