The Euphorbia Trigona, also known as the African Milk Tree, is a striking architectural plant that commands attention in any space. This specimen stands at an impressive 220cm or taller, making it an ideal statement piece for large rooms, offices, or conservatories seeking dramatic vertical interest.
Native to Central Africa, this succulent features distinctive three-sided stems with small leaves and occasional thorns, creating a sculptural silhouette. Its architectural form works beautifully as a living room divider or focal point against a blank wall.
Care is straightforward. Position in bright, indirect light—a south or west-facing window is ideal. Water sparingly during the growing season, allowing soil to dry between waterings, and reduce watering in winter. Use well-draining cactus or succulent compost to prevent root rot. Feed monthly during spring and summer with diluted succulent fertiliser.
This plant thrives in warm conditions and prefers temperatures above 15°C. It's relatively low-maintenance once established, making it perfect for busy plant parents. The Euphorbia Trigona is non-toxic to humans but can cause skin irritation, so handle with care and keep away from children and pets.
An investment piece that grows slowly but steadily, this plant will reward you with years of architectural beauty and minimal fuss.
