Euphorbia Meloformis Variegata
A rare and highly sought-after succulent, Euphorbia meloformis variegata is all about subtle beauty and collectability. With its rounded, ribbed form and soft variegation in tones of creamy yellow and green, it brings a calm, sculptural feel to any space.
Native to South Africa, this species naturally grows as a compact, globe-shaped plant. The variegated form is slower growing and more delicate, making it a true collector’s piece. As it matures, it can produce small, intricate flowers from the crown, adding to its understated charm.
Important: Like all Euphorbia, this plant produces a milky sap that can be irritating to skin and eyes.
Care Guide
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun. Variegated forms are more sensitive, so avoid harsh midday sun which can scorch the lighter areas.
Water
Water lightly and infrequently. Allow the soil to fully dry out between waterings. Overwatering is the main cause of issues.
Temperature
Enjoys warm conditions. Keep above 10°C and protect from frost.
Soil
Use a very well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Adding grit or perlite is highly recommended.
Feeding
Feed sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted cactus fertiliser.
Top Tip
Treat this more delicately than standard green succulents — variegation means less chlorophyll, so it needs a bit more care and patience.
Pet Safety
Toxic if ingested. The sap can cause irritation, so keep away from pets and wash hands after handling.
